Being in the mountains is an amazing experience – all that crisp fresh air, travelling all day with your body, relaxing in the evenings with gorgeous hearty food, and simply taking some time off in such breathtaking surroundings.

Expect to be delving into a considered and tailored yoga week in our own private yoga room with breathtaking views out to the Vanoise National Park.

A total of 450km of pistes await you for the week in the massive Paradiski area of Les Arcs and La Plagne combined for your daily snow fun.

Come back to the chalet to the outdoor hot tub experience in this tranquil area or enjoy the relaxation room that hosts the sauna!

Stretch out the days ski / board legs with your yoga evening session and relax before your evening meal.

Hearty, delicious food with local French wines to be ready for you when your class ends.

Dates of the yoga and ski retreat

Yoga teachers

Charlene and Claire will be leading this retreat; both of who have a strong connection with the mountains and snow.

For those that come to Trika classes you will know the teaching style of Charlene’s classes will be fun, observant, strong, dynamic yet soft and kind with the body and finding meditation through breath and movement.

Claire brings her restorative and Hatha dynamic to the retreat – wind down in the evenings with her relaxing, body melting sequences in a beautifully held space.

Our chalet is located in the village of Nancroix, just a short hop from the charming village of Peisey Nancroix in the massive Paradiski area and on the door step of the Vanoise Express, linking Les Arcs and La Plagne to make one of the largest ski areas in the world.

It is a stunning chalet with a hot tub and indoor sauna, with views over the Vanoise National Park.

Made up of 3 floors, it has 6 en-suite bedrooms.

On the middle floor you can warm up by a roaring fire, snuggle up and watch movies, read, journal, play some games or if it is warm enough the balcony is a great sun spot for more of that fresh mountain air! The top floor has a few of the en-suite bedrooms.

On the bottom floor is a few of the en-suite bedrooms, the relaxation room with sauna, exit to the outdoor hot tub, and our dedicated Yoga room, with floor to ceiling windows with direct views straight down the valley. The perfect view for your morning and evening yoga sessions. It really is stunning.

Saturday 10 March

  • Everyone arrives and settles in with welcome drink
  • Evening meal

Sunday 11 March

  • 7.30am: Morning Hatha Yoga with Claire. Nurturing, ease into movement and building up energy through the practice. Ending in a refreshing relaxation for you you fully settle into the start of your holiday.
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • 9.30 – 10am: Shuttle up to the pistes
  • Ski / Board time!
  • 4 / 4.30pm: Shuttle back to chalet
  • 5.45pm: Evening Yoga with Claire. Yin based restorative practice that will aim to stretch you out after the first day on the slopes and restore you for the next day! Ending in a short Yoga Nidra.
  • 7.15pm: Evening meal

Monday 12 March

  • 7.30am: Morning Vinyasa Flow with Charlene. Waking up with a creative mountain inspired flow. Chest openers, strength in grounding through the legs and free-ness in the upper body.
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • 9.30 – 10am: Shuttle up to the pistes
  • Ski / Board time!
  • 4 / 4.30pm: Shuttle back to chalet
  • 5.45pm: Evening Yoga with Claire. Gentle starting Hatha flow that builds up in energy and ends with some Yin postures to stretch and relax.
  • 7.15pm: Evening meal

Tuesday 13 March

  • 7.30am: Morning Ashtanga Inspired Flow with Charlene. This won’t be an Ashtanga practice, but be based on some of the basic postures in the sequence. We take time to explore creative movements around them.
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • 9.30 – 10am: Shuttle up to the pistes
  • Ski / Board time!
  • 4 / 4.30pm: Shuttle back to chalet
  • 5.45pm: Evening Yoga with Claire. Starting off with breath work (pranayama), we move into a Gentle Flow and slowly release tightness in the body with a Yin practice.
  • 7.15pm: Evening meal

Wednesday 14 March

  • Morning off yoga! Have a lie in!
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • 9.30 – 10am: Shuttle up to the pistes
  • Ski / Board time!
  • 4 / 4.30pm: Shuttle back to chalet
  • 5.45pm: Evening Yoga with Charlene. Working on slow treacle-like movement in the body with the most common postures that we come across. Finding our stability in the asanas and then working with closing the eyes to flow through and deeply feel the movement in the body through your practice.
  • 7.15pm: Evening meal

Thursday 15 March

  • 7.30am: Morning yoga with Claire. Yin Yang Flow. We jump into a dynamic sequence to wake the body up and prepare for our day on the slopes with scrumptious Yin postures to keep our bodies supple and happy!
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • 9.30 – 10am: Shuttle up to the pistes
  • Ski / Board time!
  • 4 / 4.30pm: Shuttle back to chalet
  • No evening yoga; chalet hosts day off too! Evening meal can be organised at a restaurant as a group, or you can have individual time off too. We can help with restaurant reservations.

Friday 16 March

  • 7.30am: Morning yoga with Charlene. The last of our morning sessions together to the theme of creativity. We warm up with led sun salutations and dive into a flow sequence and start a creative circle of movement! Ending with a led relaxation.
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • 9.30 – 10am: Shuttle up to the pistes
  • Last day of Ski / Board time!
  • 4 / 4.30pm: Shuttle back to chalet
  • 5.45pm: Evening yoga led by Charlene & Claire. A class of pranayama, Hatha flow and chanting as a group. Ending with Yoga Nidra to close the retreat.
  • 7.15pm: Last evening meal

Saturday 17 March

  • Departure day!
  • 8.45am: Breakfast
  • You can ski / board today too with bags left in the chalet if your departure time is later in the day.

It is indeed your holiday, so this is a schedule which may change according to the groups needs at the time! We don’t want it to feel restricted in any way.

How to get to our ski and yoga retreat

  • Flights are frequent from Bristol to Geneva Airport. We can help recommend the cheapest flights on the Saturday 10 March for you so everyone arrives at a similar time, and can also help arrange the transfers from Geneva Airport to the chalet for you if you wish.
  • Please note transfers are not included in the price. Averagely they cost £95-£105 per person return for a private transfer for the 2.5-3 hour trip each way.
  • If you are flying from elsewhere, do let us know too and we can try to advise appropriately so everyone arrives at similar times to Geneva!
  • Alternatively, you can get 1 extra ski day in the beginning of the week if you are taking the Sleeper Train from London St Pancreas to Bourg St Maurice which gets you in bright and early Saturday 10 March. Bourg St Maurice is 30 minutes from the chalet. You can take a taxi from there, which we can help advise on too.

Ski and board hire

Bring your own board or skis; we have a heated ski room to ensure even your mitts are nice and toasty before your day out on the pistes the next day!

We can also arrange hire for you – with someone to come directly to the chalet to fit your boots and skis. Hire averagely costs £100 per week

New to yoga and / or skiing

Don’t worry, having a small group of 10 with two teachers present in all classes means that you will get the attention you need. Either Charlene or Claire will always be assisting each class, so you can expect lots of help with suitable variations given to you to modify your practice.

Equally, do not be worried if you have never skiied before! We can arrange lessons for you. Simply let us know if you would like this arranged for you.

Are we only doing the yoga/ski retreat on these dates?

At the moment the 10-17 March 2018 are the only dates scheduled; however depending on the demand, we will be able to run this retreat on dates 3-10 March too if there are enough interested!
